OH, and...
…ran by a guy wearing an Ironman 70.3 shirt. He went halfsies at it. Halvesies?
Anyway. Bomb.
First run in the new hood complete!
The still-uncalibrated watch says:
3.64 miles
31:19 time
8:36 pace (ha! I wish!)
I’m gonna go ahead and say it was at least a 3-miler, and that’s what I was going for.
I am THRILLED with the proximity of the Burke-Gilman trail to my new place. Big time. I’d say it took about 3 minutes to run there.
Ran to Fremont and back on the Burke. Saw a guy doing yoga along the...
Day off
Done:
Delicious breakfast cooked and eaten (egg in a hole, plus sauteed zucchini, peppers and wilted spinach)
Utility accounts set up (water/sewer/garbage, electricity, gas)
Christmas chocolate sampled (oops)
Load of dishes and laundry washed (yay, clean things!)
To do:
Unpack and organize the rest of my bedroom (5 boxes to go)
Clean anything still dusty/dirty from storage, plus the...
Sweet new gear
My super-awesome-wonderful friend gave me a Nike+ Sportband as an early Christmas present to track my distance, time, pace and calories burned as I run. Win!
Click here to see what it looks like (mine is black and yellow). I would include a picture of it here, but I don’t underestimate Nike’s ability to have me murdered for copyright infringement. Therefore, I’ll play it safe.

15K to ring in 24!
I just registered for the Seattle’s Best 15K.
It’s on May 21, 2011, also known as my 24th birthday.
9.3 miles around Lake Union sounds like a great way to start the next year of my life!
Plus, it’ll be a great training run for the Rock ‘n’ Roll half in June.
Plus, it’ll just be AWESOME.
Back in it, baby!
4.1 miles in 45 minutes on the treadmill last night, mostly at a 10:30 pace except for the minute-and-a-half I walked due to a side stitch and the 30 seconds I paused to drink water (mmm, so good).
No knee pain to report!! Perhaps it was all the rest (laziness) that did me good, or the new way I’m tying my shoelaces.
Don’s chiropractor, who’s a marathoner, showed him how to...
Slowly but surely
Last night I ran a mile on the treadmill in just over 10 minutes, then did the 30 Day Shred level 1 (Jillian Michaels DVD).
The sad thing here is that I huffed and puffed my way through something that used to be too easy of a workout!! Level 2 was my jam, but I didn’t dare attempt it last night since I’ve been busy getting out of shape for a whole month now (I think I left on the...
Moving (but not running)
Ahhhh! No running or exercise of any kind has taken place since Tuesday. Happy hour, townhouse wrangling and one massive cookie from Cow Chip have happened, though.
Such a busy weekend ahead. Where to fit in running? Company holiday party tonight, procuring Christmas tree tomorrow morning, an early Christmas dinner tomorrow afternoon/evening (it’s never too early!), a holiday brunch Sunday...

While you're sleeping off your hangover...
…I’ll be running the 2011 Resolution Run 5K. January 1st, baby. Great way to kick off the New Year!
There’s an optional “polar bear dive” portion of the race. I’m obviously doing it. I mean, completely submerge myself in Lake Washington in the middle of what’s supposed to be a wickedly cold and harsh winter? Duh.
From the Web site: “Participants in...
